Brisk day, riding bikes. I sat up, riding hands free and looking around. Okay – maybe spacing out a bit.
A blur speeds toward me and, before I can touch the handlebars, my front wheel slews sideways. In a breathless feat of bicycling glory, I steadied myself and grabbed control without tumbling.
And the squirrel that had barreled directly into my front wheel bounced off, ran between my front and back wheels, and scampered up a tree.
Um – it couldn’t be that injured, could it, if it could run up a tree?

Internal injuries with delayed consequences aside, I’d prefer to think if it ran up the tree it isn’t injured very badly.
HAhahahaha! How often does this happen? I never thought about bicycle roadkill stats. You are a menace!!! Arrrrrggghaarr!
I agree with Dean, squirrel is fine. Are you ok?
