This is a shot of me, James
Lane taken from the companionway of SVSN. Indeed, humbled by the forces
of the Straight Of Juan De Fuca in the summer of 2001... Take my first
name in all lower caps and stick it in front of @svsovereignnation.com
If you have any questions about me personally
you can e-mail me at the above address or give me a call @ (510) 644-4464
and I'll answer any questions I can.
As far as sailing goes I can tell you that I think this sailboat (S.V.
Sovereign Nation) is by-far the sturdiest sailboat I've ever had the pleasure
to sail in blue water and I've sailed in and out of blue water on both
sides of the North American continent nearly all of my life.
When we brought SVSN down to S.F. from Eureka in 2002 Dena and I saw 40 foot seas as we rounded Cape Mendocino about
20 miles off shore from the deck of this sturdy ol'man! The Sailing Vessel
Sovereign Nation never once let us down and held together in true Wm.
Garden fashion. After 55 hours of hellish weather we made it into our
slip at Emery Cove safe
and sound with surprisingly few repairs to make!
Dena and I are in the process of writing a
book about our adventures and describing it (among other things) as
a virtual, sci-fi epistolary novel. All of the characters in the aforementioned
manuscript are presently pissed as hell at us for suspending them in the
mired amber pit of our combined imaginations.. In other words we're trying
to come up with an ending that will dignify their collective existences.
Anyway enough about them, lets talk about me some more...
Or better yet lets look at some great pictures of me shot by Photographer/superhero
Dena Hankins...

Just in case you missed it on the gallery pages, this is ME! just south
of
Port Orford, Oregon on September 16th 2001

This is a shot of ME! on our new Wm. Garden Gulf32
This is just east of Alcatraz Is. in the San Francisco Bay.

This was shot in April of 2001 in the San Juan Islands of Washington
That's Lummi Island off the Starboard bow.

I know a thing or two about caffeine..

I used to do allot more of this kind of thing as woodworker
for the Inn at Semiahmoo in Blaine, Wa. The above is a shot of me
building the Gravityfeed
Stage out of Ash and Padock.
My most important link is...
...Enough said!
